Henry Odogwu appointed Senior Managing Director Institutional Sales at MFS
Henry Odogwu has been appointed Senior Managing Director Institutional Sales at MFS.
In his role, Henry will lead MFS’ institutional sales strategy across EMEA, overseeing business development efforts and client engagement across key markets in the region. He will be responsible for managing the EMEA institutional sales team, strengthening relationships with institutional investors and consultants, identifying new growth opportunities, and coordinating sales activity across markets to support the firm’s long-term strategic objectives.
Henry joins the firm from BlackRock, where he began in 2020 and most recently served as Head of UK Professional Trustee Relations. During his time there, he also held senior positions Head of UK Defined Benefit Sales and Head of UK Institutional Sales for the iShares & Wealth business. Prior to BlackRock, Henry spent four years at FTSE Russell as Head of Continental Europe & European Asset Owner Sales, and earlier in his career he held a role covering Multi-Asset Risk Analytics and EMEA Institutional Client Coverage at MSCI. He has more than 25 years of experience in the asset management industry.
Based in MFS’ London office, Henry will report to Topher Callahan, Co-Head of Global Institutional, and work closely with the leadership of the EMEA institutional sales and relationship management teams. He succeeds Lars Detlefs, Managing Director of Sales for EMEA, who retired in April this year.
‘Henry’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to growing our institutional business across EMEA,’ said Topher Callahan, Co-Head of Global Institutional at MFS. ‘He brings deep market knowledge, strong leadership experience and a highly collaborative approach, along with a proven ability to build lasting relationships. We are delighted to welcome him to the team and confident he will play an important role in supporting our clients and helping drive our growth across the region.’
‘I’m delighted to be joining MFS and to become part of a firm with such a strong heritage, deep commitment to clients and long-term investment philosophy,’ said Henry Odogwu. ‘MFS has built a strong reputation in the institutional market, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the business to deepen relationships with clients and consultants and help support the next phase of growth across EMEA.’
Henry is currently a Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee at Barnardo’s, one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, which works to support vulnerable children, young people and families.
