    Alison Shimada

    Senior Portfolio Manager, Head of Total Emerging Markets Equity, Allspring Global Investments

    Alison Shimada is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of the Total Emerging Markets Equity team at Allspring Global Investments. She joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). Prior to her current role, she served as a senior analyst covering areas of developing Europe and Africa. She began her responsibilities at WFAM as the head of equity research for the developed markets (EAFE) international equity team and as a senior investment analyst for Japan and Australia/New Zealand. Shimada joined WFAM after serving as an investment officer of the University of California Regents-Office of the Treasurer. Her prior experience also includes serving as a portfolio manager specializing in Malaysian equities at Commerce Asset Fund Managers and as a senior equity analyst covering Japanese securities at Fidelity Investments Japan. Shimada began her investment industry career in 1985. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political economies of industrial societies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

    Anatole Kaletsky is Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Economist of Gavekal. Before founding Gavekal he worked for 30 years as an economic journalist and commentator at the Financial Times, The Economist, and the London Times. He is also Chairman of the Institute for New Economic Thinking, a foundation created to reform academic economics after the 2008 global financial crisis. His book Capitalism 4.0, on the post-crisis transformation of the global economy, was nominated for the 2011 Samuel Johnson Prize.

    Daniel Morris is Chief Market Strategist and Co-Head of the Investment Insight Centre at BNP Paribas Asset Management. In close coordination with the Macro Research and Investment Strategy team, he participates in investment team meetings to understand portfolio positions, and re-enforces the ability of the Investment Insight Centre to provide market insights and analysis. Previously, he has been Senior Investment Strategist at the firm since 2015. Before that, he was Global Investment Strategist at TIAA-CREF, where he advised clients and portfolio managers on strategy and asset allocation. He was also a Global Markets Strategist at JPMorgan Asset Management, Senior Equity Strategist at Lombard Street Research, and US Equity Strategist for Bank of America Securities. Morris holds a CFA designation, a BA in Mathematics from Pomona College, an MA in International Economics and Latin American Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

    Frédéric Leroux is Head of the Cross Asset team and a Fund Manager at Carmignac. He joined Carmignac in 1995 as a Fund Manager. Then, he founded a FCIMT (Managed Futures Funds) and worked consecutively for BNP Paribas Equities and HSBC CCF as a Securities Sdviser on equity market derivatives strategies. He returned to Carmignac in 2003 to become a Global Fund Manager, Head of Cross Asset, covering macroeconomic research and hedging. Leroux graduated from the Institut d’Economie Scientifique et de Gestion (IESEG), Lille, France.

    Olaf van den Heuvel, CFA, is CIO NL and Head of Tactical Asset Allocation of Aegon Asset Management. He joined Aegon Asset Management in 2000 as Portfolio Manager for Pacific Equities and as Strategist. Since 2007, Van den Heuvel has led the Multi Asset team at Aegon Asset Management Netherlands, responsible for the multi asset mandates, asset allocation and strategic views on asset classes. He has been a member of the global asset allocation voting committee since 2014. As of December 2024, Van den Heuvel is appointed Director Investments at Achmea Investment Management. Van den Heuvel studied Economics at Tilburg University, the Netherlands, and is a CFA charterholder.

    Salman Ahmed joined Fidelity in August 2020 as Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation. Previously, he was co-chair of Global Investment Committee and Chief Investment Strategist at Lombard Odier IM (LOIM). Before spending nearly 8 years with LOIM, Ahmed was head of Global Macro at Edf trading between 2009 and 2012. He also spent nearly 5 years with Goldman Sachs International as a global economist within the global macro team. He began his career in finance with Watson Wyatt (now Towers Willis Watson) in 2001. Ahmed holds a PhD and MPhil in Economics & Finance from University of Cambridge. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan, in 1999.

Before joining, she worked as a Fixed Income Analyst at BHF Bank and in Covered Bond Research at Commerzbank Fehling has a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz; Certified International Investment Analyst.
